Pinterest Gets a New Video Feature Aimed at Creators
In a post on the Pinterest Newsroom, the company has announced the launch of Idea Pins: a new feature aimed at helping creators develop inspiring content. The Idea Pins feature is basically a rebranded version of Story Pins but just with more functionalities and tools.
The Idea Pins feature is available to all Pinterest creators in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. So anyone with a business account located in these countries can create video content with the help of the new feature.
Pinterest co-founder Even Sharp considers Idea Pins to become an incredibly helpful tool for creators that would assist them in growing their audiences:
Idea Pins allow Pinterest creators to make long-lasting videos and create up to 20 pages of such content for one Idea Pin. To make the Pins stand out, you can add voice-over recordings, apply transition tools, and add detail pages with instructions.
Moreover, it’s possible to export the Idea Pins to share them on other platforms beyond Pinterest. All of the exported videos will have a Pinterest watermark on them, which is quite similar to what TikTok does.
Pinterest Targets Short-Form Video Content
It’s no wonder that there is high consumer demand for short-form video content—it’s catchy and fun to watch. Many social media platforms have already begun to offer features that allow sharing such content. Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts are examples of that.
Pinterest chose not to stay behind and came up with its own feature to provide its creators with a new way to engage with their audience through video content.
