Coast Guard Captain Rebecca Ore said Tuesday that divers determined about 4,000 feet of the pipeline was “laterally displaced” by about 105 feet, the Associated Press reported. The dog, named Chester, reportedly died during surgery which was hoping to save him from internal quills. Chester was on a deck outside their New Jersey home on September 2 in the early hours of the morning when the tussle with the porcupine occurred. Owner Miranda DeGennaro told NJ.com that she believes her dog attacked the porcupine, leaving quills on the pit bull-mix’s face, chest and abdomen. They later discovered the quills were also inside of him, and traveling further down....

The Las Vegas Police Department (LVPD) was first alerted to reports that a woman was being attacked by a dog in the 4100 block of Pennwood Avenue at about 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday. Every year millions of Americans are bitten by dogs and hundreds of thousands need to be treated for those bites. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 4.5 million people are attacked by dogs and 800,000 need treatment for bite injuries....
